The longest running cartoon series in US, The Simpsons, has lampooned Apple Inc. in a show broadcasted last night, which featured a “Mapple Store” opening up in the Springfield Mall.
The show, tagged as “MyPods and Boomsticks” featured Mapple’s Chief Imaginative Officer, Steve Mobs, who was making an announcement from an underwater headquarter, and depicted by a fanboy as “like a God who knows what we want”.
Mapple store featured in the show was full of, “myPhones” “myPods”, and a “Braniac Bar”, and showed that Lisa Simpson was disappointed that she couldn’t afford any of those Mapple’s products, so decided to purchase “myPhonies”, fake earbuds, so as to pretend she has a myPod.
Real pick of the show was Bart’s dubbing of Steve Mobs making a product announcement, in which he said, “You think you're cool because you buy a $500 phone with a picture of a fruit on it... well guess what? They cost eight bucks to make…”
In that announcement, Steve Mobs further stated that he had made fortunes from selling his products, and invested the entire sum in Microsoft. The gag is available on Fox.com and Hulu but ain't available for viewers outside US.
