Apple Black Friday Discounts Expected To be Deeper and Bigger Amidst Economic Concerns

Apple Black Friday Discounts Expected To be Deeper and Bigger Amidst Economic Concerns

It seems that Apple is geared up for its one-day sale event on Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving Day, with one analyst speculating that the company is expected to offer discounts up to 15 percent.

(ed : Apple UK is also having a 1-day shopping event this Friday starting from early morning)

Shaw Wu, an analyst from the Investment firm Kaufman Bros., has speculated that this year’s Black Friday sale will be more aggressive than usual, primarily due to existing distribution checks and supply chain.

Presenting his forecasts, Shaw Wu said, “Historically over the last couple years, Apple has offered discounts between 5%-10%. We think there may be discounts of up to 15% this year on Macs, iPods and accessories. It is not clear to us if iPhone will see a discount as well”.

These predictions are linked to several ongoing sales from Apple’s authorised resellers, including Best Buy’s 4-Day Apple Sale, Mac Mall’s 57-hour sale, and Black Friday Sale from Amazon.com.

While Apple usually doesn’t offer significant discounts to its resellers or distributors, these sellers are apparently taking a hit on their profit margins, the analyst added.

The analyst’s forecast is further bolstered by an announcement on Apple’s website, saying that its online store is organising a “one-day-only holiday shopping event. You'll find dozens of great iPod, iPhone, and Mac gift ideas”; however, details related to the announcement aren’t available yet.
