Apple’s iPhone has topped the list of mobile devices on the ad traffic network for the month of October, registering 4.1 percent of the total ad requests from AdMob Network, a recent AdMob Mobile Metrics Report reveals.
The report stated that ad requests from advertisers for mobile adverts on iPhone increased to 236 million in October, as against 103 million requests reported in the month of September; however, AdMob’s request for mobile adverts for all handsets registered 13.8 percent rise in October, to 5.8 billion.
Though iPhone jumped to the top spot worldwide by replacing Motorola RAZR, it still trails behind RAZR in US, where the device received 37 percent of ad requests.
In addition, the iPhone ranks 3 in UK, where Nokia N95 is at the top spot, followed by Sony Ericsson K800i.
The report further revealed that the October surge in ad traffic on iPhone is due to huge response from outside US, with Western Europe accounted 17 percent and Asia accounted for 8 percent of total ad requests on the handset.
AdMob Networks provides text and banner ads on mobile handsets and it monthly releases a study, dubbed as ‘Mobile Metrics Report’, to portray performance of various mobile devices in terms of ad requests.
