Lenovo purchased IBM's PC division a while back and with it, managed to get some of the industry's most recognised and respected icons.
The Thinkpad R61 is one of many laptops that Lenovo carries and is based around the Intel Centrino Platform.
Its specifications are spot on what you would expect for a business computer in this price bracket. An Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 CPU, 2GB RAM, 160GB HDD, a dual layer DVD Burner and a one year carry-in warranty.
Connectivity is achieved through the presence of a LAN port and Intel's own PRO/Wireless 4965AGN wireless solution.
There's also a 15.4-inch TFT screen powered by Intel's GMA X3100 onboard graphics chip plus the presence of an integrated Fingerprint reader that provides biometric authentification almost in real time.
Interestingly, the R61 comes with Windows Vista Business with a downgrade option to Windows XP professional, giving you the flexibility to choose between the two operating systems.
