Mac Machines Are Generating Huge Revenues For Apple, Analyst Says
Apple has announced financial results for the third quarter of the fiscal year 2008, and it has set new records with its operating income.

According to Ezra Gottheil, Technical Business Research Analyst, major chunk of the company’s operating income is driven by impressive sales of Macintosh computers.

Mentioning the substantial sale of Apple’s Mac, the analyst said, “Year-to-year revenue growth exceeded 40 percent for both notebooks and desktops, the fourth consecutive quarter of 40 percent-plus growth for notebooks and third quarter for desktops.”

Market share for Mac is increasing remarkably, with 44 percent growth in year-on-year unit sales, and there is striking 50 percent increase in Mac users every year, the analyst added.

Peter Oppenheimer, Apple’s CFO, have stated that the company is all set to enhance its influence in the computer-market, with some crucial “product transition” ahead in the later part of September quarter this year.

The analyst also speculated that Apple may revamp its laptop line-up with Intel Centrino 2 processors, and it is likely to add TV tuners to its notebooks.

The company may differentiate between consumers and professionals’ laptops, by adding ‘quad-core’ processors to the latter.
